Actually, it kind of works in reverse, allows you to see more! With a transparent bulkhead you can pop the front hatch to admit light, which brings much illumination into the erstwhile dark and dank underdeck cavern regions.

Gotta dissent here, have had not-so-watertight hatch arrangements suck down and become difficult to pop loose ..... and be DANG hard to open if some sort of finger-grip arrangement hasn't been provided. I'm talking screwdrivers .

The OI No. 2 in the pic below is my 11th build, so practically everything you see on it is a lesson learned to save time, trouble, or both, at some time or another.
