: Electric heaters that Bill is talking about is to not over load
: your circuit with plugging too many in. Yes they are a great way
: to heat a small space but I would recommend you look at the
: current load on the lines that are in the garage and see what
: else is running off them. Some older garages might have a couple
: of plugs in them but those usually are a shared circuit with
: some other plugs in the house. Just double check before you plug
: too much in and cause a fire.
Also: the little portable heaters don't like to be on extension cords. I have a small one that I use in the chicken coop to keep the girls warm. I used it in the shop a few times on a 12ga x 25' cord on a 20 amp circuit to help post-cure some laminations. After an hour, the cord was almost too hot to touch.
