: Hello,
: after 4-5 yrs almost gone from this board (3 cities and 3 moves
: ago) I'm now established in Seattle and ready to start building
: a S&G Night Heron (kit arrived yesterday) - this will be our
: third kayak (Artic Tern 14 and 17 done before) - I'm not
: counting the other 4 whitewater kayaks :-)
: I'm planning to use my 2.5 garage (insulated) as work area, and I'd
: like to heat it so that I can work on the winter. I was planning
: to use a Mr Heater like this one
: (http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200307959_200307959
: ) or a Modine heater like this one
: (http://www.shophmac.com/modine-hd45.html).
: Will there be any problem if I use any of these heater while
: epoxying ? Some people have told me there's a chance of
: explosion if the flame catches the epoxy vapors. If so, what are
: you using to heat your garage ?
: When I was in Chicago, we built our 3 kayak in a basement in the
: winter, and the furnace was on a contiguous room (never had any
: problem with the epoxy vapors catching on).
: Regards,
: Hugo
Modines work fine, have worked for years using them. Last shop had 5 of them, big shop :)
