A couple points: the tube fittings are 100% waterproof. A simple hole and knot is fine... but you have to be able to reach the hole. With a tube fitting, the lines are all run from the outside. You can replace your lines at any time. Even on the very tips, such as for the perimeter lines on the Neytiri Night Heron. That tip is a LONG way from that 6" hatch!
