Will, when you get going, there are some things I would do differently if possible:
*i didn't shape the frames for fabric clearance between the stringers on the deck, I would do this so only the stringers and deckridge support the fabric.
*i would adjust the depth of the crossbars under the floor boards so that they touch the top of the keel for more support. I put in 1/4" filler spacers as an afterthought.
*I wanted to lash in pool noodles for fixed secondary floats - but they are seasonal at the dollar stores, so I ended up with milk cartons.
*after i drilled the holes I realized why Dave placed the front and rear carry loops so far in - there is no good way to tie a knot inside the frame after covering if you put the loops where I did.
*once I use up the sheet of marine ply I have, I am going to switch to regular lumberyard goods, varnished. I've realized my rec boats are never going to stay wet enough to need that level of protection.
