Any advice is contingent on what you have. If you could post some quality pictures somewhere it would help anyone who has advice.
One thing you should do is get one of the numerous books on strip building so you are knowledgable about the basics. For instance, modern strippers are wood cored fiberglass laminates. The wood has to be encased in an epoxy/fiberglass layer inside and out. There are no ribs or other interior stuctures except for bulkheads which are added for floatation.
