I've now have built a SOF (F1 which I love and will use most of the time once I get a sea sock made and fitted).
My S&G Arctic Hawk kit looks like it is actually going to get built.
My fingers are itching to build a strip boat or at least one with a strip deck.
I want a day trip boat, right now I weigh 200 lbs 5'2'' size 9 shoes. I like to use a greenland paddle. My paddle is the one I built in Brian's class along with the F-1. I gaining skills, not sure where I fit in the pack. I have a sof badarika that is too tippy for me to use much but too cool to get rid of. It too needs a sea sock.
So, suggestions for a fast boat that can handle my current weight, like to get down to about 150 which would be way healthier, and would work for the short arms. I want enough stability that I am not constantly bracing and rolls are beyond me at this time. More classes.
Has anyone ever done a strip/sof combo boat? Anyone want to give it a try, I will be #2.
I paddle most of the time out of Ventura Harbor in the Los Angeles area, member of California Kayak Friends.
Nick, just watched your most recent video. You make it all look so simple.
How would the Auk or microbootlegger fit my specs?
Thanks to all of you who post all the time and happy Christmas, may Santa bring you lots of tools.
