I've never had a problem with them. Very tough. Here is some mounting info that I put together for some of my folders (although it may not pertain to your situation). By mounting them on tubes I was able to then get an even broader range that would allow very short people and as well as tall people to use them. Otherwise there wasn't quite enough throw.
