"Nobody panic" was probably his thought as he was being dragged away by the croc. This kind of risk is why, in the end, I did not paddle all the way to Hudson Bay alone. I doubt I would have thought to myself as a polar bear chewed through my hide, "Don't panic, Rob". It is always sad to hear that a kayaker has died. Indeed, the sport has inherent risks but those with enough experience need to know when enough is enough.
