I wouldn't be the builder/paddler that I am today without your efforts to maintain this site: that's a good thing. Because of the great folks who frequent this site, I have become a good and well experienced paddler with enough knowledge to go where I want to when I want to and still maintain enough sense to avoid those areas where danger lurks. Hence, I opted out of the Hudson Bay paddle last year due to the heightened risk of polar bear attack this year. All I had to do to make that decision was remember commentary from this site and realize that the risk outweighed my desire to keep paddling for years to come. Yes, I have managed to get myself into occasional trouble and yes, because I paddle I lose cameras fairly regularly and yes, I occasionally wreck my boats but hey, while the kayaks are in one piece, many folks always notice and want to stop and talk...especially when they see the Night Heron S&G I am currently using. This winter I will be doing some interesting decorative work on the Night Heron. I have this really large bottle of gold glitters and some spare epoxy...when I am done that kayak is going to really be noticeable during bright sunny days. Thanks again, Nick
