I would be concerned about the composition of the glitter. Most glitter is not very light stable when it comes to color, unless it's pretty high-quality art supply stuff, and I'm not even sure how stable that is. It will still retain its "glitter," but most likely the gold will fade and you'll be left with silver. If you're dedicated to flames and not to using your gold glitter, maybe you should/could consider some of the 3M crushed glass glitter additive for automotive paints.
