In the spirit of sharing, here is my idea for planing strips. I found freehand annoying, so I added a fence to my plane. You rotate it to the angle that you wish. I used 6,9, 12, and 15 degrees, which complements the 3 degrees I cut onto one side of all my strips. It works well. For more than 15 degree, not often needed, you just put a little air between the bottom of the strip and the fence.
