100% agreement:) I also have never had a problem with the strips not bending uniformly using butt joints. If they did I never noticed and 3 seconds with the ROS would cure that problem.
We had the exact same problem with "engineer/perfectionist" types on the biplaneforum. Jigs were built to assemble one-off parts that deserved to be in the Smithsonian. They were works of art. The only comment I could make was that this is one beautiful jig, have you decided to build jigs instead of airplanes?
But, we all work at our own speed, using our preferred tools, using methods comfortable to us and we all have different levels of what is referred to as perfection. We challenged ourselves, we had fun, we have a beautiful boat. End of story.
