Darel,
You have a glue problem. Buy regular Titebond glue, not Titebond II or III. It sets faster and does not need to be waterproof since
every part will be covered in epoxy.

Butt joints will be very visible and have the potential to break the fair curve of your hull line.

A good scarf joint will do just the opposite.

Yes, there are a lot of quick and fast ways to do things, without thinking too hard about them, or the consequences.

For some people, the results are fine.

You could have this boat for a long, long time. You could have fun building it too. Don't be in a hurry. You also don't
have to waste time. If you don't care how the boat looks, that's one thing but make it strong. Don't align joints.
