Thanks. Am I looking for 3/4" thick boards then?
: I like to have a bit extra, so I just figure out the circumference
: of the widest section divide that by 3/4" (width of the
: strips) and add a few on top of that times the overall length to
: get the rough area of a cylinder the shape of the boat, it's a
: bit overkill, but it works. Then figure the thickness you're
: using for the strips add the thickness of the blade (kerf)
: multiply by the number of strips and this will tell you how wide
: the boards need to be to get that much wood. It almost always is
: 1/4" more than what you'll get with stock sizes of lumber,
: so you end up with extra.
