: I bought two of these bicycle storage lifts immediately when I
: spotted them at a local XSCargo store. I wasn't thinking about
: my bicycle when I spotted them. I figure that they will work
: well for raising a kayak to the ceiling in the garage with ease.
: I thought I should share this with those of you who are always
: looking for an easier way to get the kayak "up there".
: I haven't installed them yet...too darned cold in the
: garage...I'll do that come warmer weather or excessive boredom.

Hi Robert,

Sold by many people, all made in China, which means the fasteners are suspect. I've got 6 of them in the ceiling of my garage, along with 5 kayaks and a canoe. I drilled out the rivits and installed bolts, then replaced the grossly cheap "rope" with nylon. Don't forget the rivits holding the pulleys to the bases. This way they work quite well.
