Thanks for the reply, Dave. I was hoping you would, seeing how you came up with the idea to begin with. Glad to hear you haven't abandoned it. So at least there will be two of us crazy enough to do it! Safety in numbers, or something like that.
The stuff seems really tough - can't even mark it by digging at it with a fingernail. I'm going for coating the whole boat, and then painting for UV protection. Some may say why use the PL then? Why not just paint? Well I believe the PL will make a hard durable coating much stronger than paint alone. And how many coats of paint would you need without the PL? 8 to 10? More?
I think one coat of PL and two coats of paint will do it.
Now I'm getting excited to try it! Time will tell the results, and I'll surely let y'all know how it works.
