: One of the great things about Western Red Cedar is that it comes in
: so many colors. Individual boards can run from creamy to
: chocolate brown, but it can take several visits to lumber yards
: to find the right boards. I'd stick with western Red Cedar for
: medium and darker colors, and maybe basswood if you can't find
: very light cedar.

: ALL the deck wood on my Guillemot S is Western Red Cedar - dark,
: medium and light (see photo). It just takes time picking the
: boards and keeping the strips separate when building.

Now that is a fine demonstration of what can be done with this amazing species of wood. It makes very nice classical guitar tops too. :)
