The cherry was a BIT harder to work with than white cedar. It takes me about 4 hours to layout and carve a GP. This bugger took twice that. Only 32 oz to boot.

My father-in-law is retiring in June. He'll be getting a solo canoe (strip built) with cherry accents from us. I should be starting that in mid-April after the winter play finishes. My wife and I are part of a local theatre group. This winter we're doing "Once Upon A Mattress" with my wife as Princess Winnifred. It should be a hoot. The gentleman who usually builds the sets passed away a few weeks ago. I'm going to try and fill his shoes.
