I should have stated it more clearly:

The example I mentioned consists of 2 rigid frames, over which stringers are strung and then skin is overlaid. This construction methodology is:
- identical to so called ‘fuselage construction’
- is 10,000 yrs old
- was (1995) considered original or close to an original skin boat
- is a boat construction tradition
