I have a F1 sof and am nearing the final stages of finishing the build of my CLC Arctic Hawk.
I ordered the kit with the medium cockpit opening, considering my lack of grace getting in and out of the F1, I thought I would go with that cockpit. Since it is a bit longer, which helps the getting in and out.
So the question is since the kit comes with a stacked plywood coaming should I stick with that method or try something else.
Simple and low risk of disastrous mess-up is simple.
Also are there standards for the size of the lip and the height of the clearance between deck and the lip.
Would be cool to do a carbon fiber a la One Ocean but I have never worked with carbon fiber. I under stand it can be difficult to keep the fibers lined up.
I was thinking of doing some exotic veneer on the top of the coaming.

Also I think someone mentioned there should not be any truly straight lines in a coaming to insure there is tension on the skirt.
