I copmpletely understand what you mean. Any time I take my kayak out and someone sees it, they HAVE to stop and ask about it because they don't see them on the Canadian prairies. Such conversations usually take anywhere from 5-30 minutes to get through. Some folks want to know how they are built while others just want to look and be impressed. Linda and I have talked about opening up a B&B after we retire. She thinks I should operate a kayak guide company and use wooden kayaks. Great idea! By the time I retire I should have an adequate fleet. I am working on kayak #6 and have three other projects waiting to be built.
