I wasn't as concerned with the bow but possibly I can do something there as well before glassing...
Actually I did use staples, I filled the holes with water based wood filler mixed with compatible artist's paint, did a decent job of hiding the staple holes, at least pre-epoxy. I did have some difficulty hitting station #2, the strips seemed to want to bypass it.
I did apply strips pretty equally on both sides as I progressed. I don't think I got more than 2 or 3 strips ahead on any one side. Guess I was focusing too much on getting the strips to connect to the stern (and bow?) rather than keeping everything straight. I'm trying not to obsess, this being the first boat and all, but if I can take corrective measures that don't set me back too far I'd be game.
