Hi - good question.

I used the same material that is used to cover boats for winter storage. I was able to get the thicker 8 mill material and anticipate that I will be able to get a fair amount of testing in before I put on the polyester. A transparent version is available but that is not as strong. Cutting, taping and shrinking took less than 2 hours. Sewing the coming on took about 90 min. As long as I don't hit something sharp, the material is durable and if it gets stretched out, can be re-shrunk. The repair kit consists of the remainder of the roll of heat shrink tape used to put the skin on.
