Sitting at the computer when it hit, a bit of a shake and we're about 30 km from it.
The first one, 7.1 last September was only 16 km away from us and really shook things up here though only minor damage for us personally. This latest one being basically in the city and with pre-damaged buildings, collapsed 3 major ones plus lots of facade damage which didn't help those walking the streets at lunchtime. Plus a couple of buses under falling rubble - not a pretty picture.
The September quake at 4.30 a.m. and no fatalities, this one just before 1.00 p.m. and 65 dead so far reported. NOT a good time to have one.
Thanks for the thoughts from round the world.
