I did a rotten job of cove and beading (too shallow a cove) and the result was a lot of gaps between strips. The end result was I had to do a lot of planing that resulted in a hole (see below). My thought is to cut portions of the strips out around this area and place new pieces into the resulting area much like you would do in fitting the closing strip. I would just cut along the grain, cutting out a couple of strips. The part I am not sure of is the crosscut. I have just about any tool needed and I am thinking of using an exacto knife to cut accross the grain on a slight bevel.

Any comments? (Besides the one I would make which would be "Why the heck did you keep going when you must have seen that the gaps were too large???")
