Why the heck did you... Sorry, too easy. I't going to be tough to grain match, but what I'd do, in my infinite one strip boat wisdom, is cut a long two arc piece, point at both ends, long arcs, about 1.5 strips max width, and bevel slightly so it's bigger on the outside. Should not look too glaringly as a patch.
