I have always used continuous sheer strakes (clc style) due to the ease of working, strenght and lightness IMO...
I like the ability to fasten deck beams and hatch supports easily where needed. They true up and hold the hull shape very well. I use thickened epoxy and nail the deck down with #14 ring nails every 4". The bronze holds holds up well with resin coatings and varnish. I don't always glass the decks, depends on what the boat is for.
