I used to go there the whole weekend with my wife when I lived in Chicago - lots of friends to see, new gear to check, so many talks and presentations that we ended up splitting them to attend them all, etc. Then, in the afternoon, it's off to a pub to see a kayaking movie premiere (like the "7 Rivers Expedition" or similar) and more fun with friends. Loved seeing also all the hand-made kayaks populating the parking lot, crafts, etc.
Did i said it's an awesome show ?
I truly miss Canoecopia. I thought there would be something similar in the West Coast when I moved to Seattle, but haven't found it yet (I thought that the West Coast Sea Kayak Simposium might be the ticket, but they have closed due to lack of funds). Is there any other similar show around here ?

: This has been discussed a bit on the forum, but if you've not
: heard, Canoecopia is next weekend, Friday thru Sunday in
: Madison, WI. It's the largest paddling show in the country, tons
: of seminars as well as lots of vendors. Very much worthwhile if
: you are in the midwest.

: Btw, I am in no way associated with this, just a worthwhile
: paddling event.
