Hi Joe,
I don't think that will be a great problem.
The tape protects the screws. It depends a little on how the battery is changed, if it is a part of the back or the whole back.
If it is only a part, tape or cling wrap (saran wrap I think you people call it) would seal it and enable it to be released.
