Ian, that band saw seems to have generated a bit of email, lol. Near as I could tell, it's a 1938 model Delta. I bought it for a song as a derelict, and spent a pleasant week bringing it back to life. It was mostly a case of deep cleaning since it was more gunked up with ancient oil and grease than rusted and corroded. I was delighted, and still am, to discover that most all the parts are still the exact same as for current Delta 14" band saws! The only new parts needed, however, were new tires (on my second set since then), plus fresh ball bearings and graphite cool blocks for the guides. I added a Carter quick-release for the tension, and like it a lot.

I quit messing with the wheel covers because I was wearing the threads out taking them off and putting 'em back on, lol. If I'm not changing blades I'm cleaning the tires or some other such foolishness. It's seldom a day goes by that it doesn't get used, I love that old gal! The covers are safely stored, and in excellent shape, still features the old red and white round Delta logo.
