I'm with Dave. I figure I've already spent more on my workbenches and a new circular saw than I will my SoF. If I opted to scarf pine together instead of spending $$$ on 16' lengths of clear WRC, I *know* the shop would be more expensive.

As a result, I will not calculate the cost of tools and the shop into the kayak build. When I'm done building my first kayak, building a second for the wife shouldn't include much more than buying more WRC.

Look long term, and spread that initial investment out. That's how I'm pitching it to the wife, at least.
