: last time I looked (probably 5 years ago) I had a hard time finding
: snading disks for a tablesaw. I checked again today and by
: golly, they are pretty easy to find. Picture below from the
: woodcraft web site is of their 10" steel disk with a 5/8
: hole that fits the standard arbor of a 10" table saw. It is
: 10" diameter and 1/8th inch thick--about as thick as a
: sawblade. They want 18.99 for it. Item #129272 found on their
: webpage at:
: My sanding disk is 1/4" thick aluminum with extra bracing
: close to the center, so it won't flex on the arbor. I think a
: thicker disk is important with heavier work, but for cedar the
: steel disk should be wonderful.
: You'll need to add a few things to this. Sandpaper is the first
: accessory. They make sandpaper discs which have a pressure
: sensitve adhesive applied to the back. Peel off the protective
: packaging and stick it on a clean disk. In order to clear the
: arbor these disks have a big hole in the center--usually about
: 3" diameter. Woodcraft refers to these as 10' x 3" PSA
: discs. 80 to 120 grit should work fine as a start.
: If you are the least bit handy you can apply your own glue and use
: plain-back sandpaper disks. Or if you are really adventurous,
: you can cut your own circles from big rectangular sheets of
: sandpaper.

Go to an automotive paint supply place, they sell tubes of adhesive just for sticking sanding discs on. Problem with most glues used for this isn't sticking the discs on it's getting the used discs off. The purpose made adhesive works very well for this.
