I agree with that statement :-).
However, CG can change by the way the kayak is loaded, so I attach my seat to the kayak by velcro strips, and move my seat to balance the kayak when loaded before I take off.
After a while you get the feel for how much just by the way she lies in the water.
So here's a plug for movable seats.
