Skin-on-Frame: epoxy the plywood form edges or not?

I've got two SOF builds going on. Just to try a few different things, one has 1/2 inch marine plywood, and the other 1/2" MDO exterior plywood. I'm wondering what the genereal consensus is on epoxy coating the edges. Is it needed or not?
