I just did the first seam and not one curse word was uttered! I soaked the 2" tape by working it through a shallow can of resin sitting in a plastic paint tray. Was a little afraid of one long piece so I did it half at a time but one would have worked, rolled up to the center like a scroll. Here's a pic of my reaching tools. The spatula (thrift store, not from the kitchen;) was handy to move the tape and form a good crease.
Thanks for the input from all..... so many methods and tricks to do the same thing is what makes this process so interesting.

Fred, I did remember to tape up for leaks. thanks.
: I can't see in the picture, but you might want to run some tape
: along the length of the seam to keep any resin from leaking from
: the inside.
