: I have done this with walnut and with ash. I was able to use strips
: close to 1/8 thick. To get them bendy I soaked them for a few
: days in household ammonia (cleaning supplies section of your
: supermarket). This is an alternative to steam that doesn't take
: as much equipment. It does darken the wood to a brown colour.
: After a few days in an upright length of ABS pipe the strips
: will be like a soggy spagetti noodle. I had no problem going
: around even the tighter curve at the bow (I still needed lots of

thanks for all the advice. Do you clamp it all together wet and let it dry than glue it up? Wondering if you could use Gorrilla glue which likes wet wood?
