I agree that an extra pair of hands helps, but with steamed parts, you need far fewer clamps. The jig I use for making coamings has a total of 14 clamps. On a S&G or strip boat, the coaming riser is the jig. The key is to bend the rim strip around the "jig" quickly and clamp both ends and both sides (four clamps), then take your time positioning it accurately elsewhere (you can do this for several minutes at room temperature). Let it cool and dry, remove it, then apply epoxy and bond it in place. Repeat the process for the second strip, and for a third if you want a deeper lip.
