I prefer my joints on the strips to fall between the forms. I use a litle piece of strip hot glued to the back side of the joint to keep them lined up, takes very little time to do this. They are just simple butt joints. This is a core you're building, a pretty one, but still a core between two fiberglass skins. The shorter strips for me are much easier to handle.

The little pieces of strips just pop off along with the forms when you do the inside.
