Rain's also a horrible surprise if it rains over night if you park and and leave the boats on the car. Found my first long kayak on the roof of my car one morning after leaving it uncovered while I was at work and had huge thunderstorms overnight. When I started to pull away heard this loud sloshing noise, stopped and the boat was about 2/3 full of water in the cockpit (luckily the boat had bulkheads). No pump, had to bail with a styrofoam coffee cup....took awile ;)
