: If you want the ultimate finish, use 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper as
: an applicator for a coat of your finish. Dip the paper in it,
: then wet sand the surface. Wipe off the excess, then let it

: manner after the sanded coat cures. The result is an incredibly
: smooth finish. Unfortunately, it's still gonna' get beat up when
: you use it.
Try adding a little japan dryer to that Watco oil. Just a splash.
Thins the oil so it goes on really smooth.
You can put a couple coats on each day too.
If it ever gets warm again, put your paddle out in the sun to cook that oil into the wood between coats.
