: I have 10 year old Raka resin and non-blush 350 hardener. Left
: overs from when I built my boat. The bottom of the kayak had not
: real damage, but 10 years of use...dents, scratches and keel /
: bow issues.
: I sanded the bottom through varnish showing a bit of weave. I need
: to fill a couple small spots where wood is exposed. Once these
: issues are taken care of, Im thinking about a think skim coat of
: epoxy on the bottom before re-varnish.
: question is...any reason to avoid using 10 year old raka epoxy?
You may want to draw a small sample of each to inspect them, sometimes the epoxy crystalizes some and needs remixed. Also the hardener often turns dark. Might want to mix a small sample to see how it sets and what the color is.
