Same here, the NRS mittens are warm.
My only complaint is the tight fit. I like being able to take them on and off to fiddle with my iPod, cameras and stuff.
Caveat: I live in Southern California, water here never gets below 55 degrees F.
Gloves never really work as well as we'd like because we have so few muscles and blood vessels in our fingers. When they work, they're usually too thick to be able to
do much with our fingers.
Usually I wear NRS gloves and when it's 'cold' I'll wear the mittens.
What would work for me even better would be thinner, more flexible neoprene mittens with little kid lanyards attached to my sleeves.
It doesn't matter if they get wet inside so long as don't let the water run in and out.

: Finger gloves are useless in frigid water. I paddle year round here
: in Newfoundland where the salt water runs from 1 degree Celsius
: in winter to about 13 in summer. Actually, your hands can almost
: get too warm - even during winter paddling. But I'd rather have
: too warm as opposed to numbing cold with no use of the digits!!
: I also paddle GP exclusively.
: Just my 2 cents!!
