I use Tightbond I. I am guessing it will clean up better. I like the dark colored glue with darker colored strips or even the lighter strips. It has a color that will look more like something that could be wood if you miss a spot. May not be professional, but the dark between the strips looks pretty good to me.

: I used tightbond II applying a solid bead with enough to press out
: in between strips but not get outright sloppy. I then wiped with
: a damp cloth that I now feel I did not clean often enough. On my
: first kayak I had a blotch around the bow stem were I had done
: some repair to strip damage just prior to glassing, like a day
: before. Looks kinda smear of discoloration I am sure is glue.
: The second kayak has streaks right along the strip seams in some
: areas that again I can attribute to glue. I sanded with a
: variety of power sanders but settled on doing the majority of my
: sanding with a fairing board using 40 grit then 60. I stayed
: away from any type of solvent or additive other than a bit of
: bleach. I had some spots of black appear on my first one and
: started washing with bleach to prevent any growth.
: I did not do anything other than wiping to actually target glue
: removal.

: My first project before beginning my next kayak will be to finish
