: I came up with this idea to prevent having a mess of staples on the
: shop floor, or trying to hold a handful of them when two hands
: are needed to pull them out.
: I use two of the rare earth hatch magnets; one inside, one outside
: my shirt, and simply let the magnet hold the staples. No muss,
: no fuss.
: I would warn older builders with pacemakers (Bill) not to try this.

Interesting idea.
My method is mostly to lift the staple clear of the surface on one run, then catch with a pliers and pull straight out and drop the pulled staple into a jar.
Any that fall to the floor get picked up with a wee door magnet on a stick. Which is also handy for fishing keys, etc out of deep-ish water or other liquid.
