Whereas Yost likes to use alluminum for his folding boats, means alluminum is the best choice.
That said, I wonder if there is also a way to build a folding (e.g. sea rider or nikumi) using 6' wood stringers.
Can you see any problem? shortcomings? weak points?

I dreamt sort of long and tight ballistic nylon sockets to fill someway with scafed stringers... but then I woke up and realize it was just a dream! :DDD

Probably any polyethylene (or alluminum) joint won't twist so much... I see it works fine with folding paddles.

Is there any prior experience with wooden frames?
