Don't be in a hurry to spend your money. Spend a couple days searching online, and see if you can\'t find a better deal, or a better boat.

This is a builders forum, so there is a tendency here to build things, rather than buy them :) The very thought of a "purchase" sends us all a twitter. With that in mind, let me suggest you take a few minutes and browse through www.yostwerks.com. Tom Yost has been playing with some designs for inflatable boats which you can build yourself. The price of an inflatable is usually pretty modest.

If you are looking for something with a bit more stiffness and control then consider something like the wood- or aluminum- framed collapsible boats on Yost's webpages.

If you like those ideas, there is a forum which is devoted to collapsible or folding kayaks. You might want to google that.
