I recently ordered up parts of a kit from CLC for an Expedition Single. They sent me lovely CNC-machined forms (one of which was broken but now repaired), but no paper overlays or offsets. They DID sent two more bits which overlay the end forms and seem to be for cutting out stems. I'm fine with that process, but I guess what I'm missing is whether I then need to cut the MDF form they sent me in order to attach the new stem...?
It looks easy enough to trace the bit they sent me onto the form and cut that part off with a bandsaw. If that's the process (which it seems to be), then why send a form with that bit still attached (and a second one for tracing...)?
It seems that someone must have been down this road before, so I thought I'd post it for you folks. I have abundant written instruction for how to do all this stuff from scratch, but not much about how to use the kit pieces...
Thanks kindly,
Kris
