Thanks for the confirmation. *sigh* I haven't been able to find anything other than kiln dried hardwoods, which are currently prohibitively expensive for me.
Would it be a decent choice for gunwales if I could get 10 feet of clear wood, and scarf boards together? Say I get it split this next weekend, paint the ends, and allow to dry for a while before milling into lumber.
Or would that just be a serious waste of time...
