Between coats I just waited 24 hrs, sanded and re-coated. I think I used like 400 or 600 between coats. After the last coat I let it sit for a couple weeks to firm up then went at it starting with 1000, then 1500, then 2000. If you can find 3000 I would even do that. I didn't. It would save a bit of buffing time. The Finess-it II worked good on the ROS with the 3m foam buffing pads. Buff until you are happy and then do it some more. In some spots I could still see some minor scratches after wiping it off. I'd just hit those with the 2000 lightly again and buff them out. The Novus II does about the same job but for some reason it does seem to add just a bit to the finish if you use it as the final polish. From what I can tell, the people that say you can't get as nice a finish as just brushed on have not buffed enough.
